Route type describes how data is organized between the local network and the overseas exit. These three types are not simply better or worse; they represent different trade-offs among cost, path control, coverage, and flexibility.

IEPL dedicated routes typically connect the entry point and destination exit through a controlled cross-border link, limiting the public-network segment. Their value is not a fixed speed figure, but a more consistent path that is easier to manage during public-network congestion. For office sessions, long transfers, online meetings, and remote collaboration where continuity matters, start by testing a dedicated entry point.
Dedicated routes generally cost more to build and maintain than ordinary public-network routes, so configurations vary by region. Consider whether the destination genuinely needs stronger path control: for brief browsing or nearby services, a relay route may offer a better balance of cost and performance.

Relay Routes
A relay route first sends the connection to an intermediate entry point with more suitable network conditions, then onward to the destination region. This can avoid poor direct interconnection between the local network and the remote exit, producing more balanced cross-region performance. A relay is not necessarily longer or slower; the key factor is interconnection quality between the intermediate point and both ends.
These routes suit everyday web use, video, AI tools, and most general applications, and are common when the destination is farther away. Their resource cost usually falls between dedicated and direct routes, while city coverage is more flexible. If a dedicated entry point does not match your local network well, compare a relay in the same region by page loading, video startup, and session continuity.

Direct Routes
Direct routes rely mainly on public-network interconnection between the local network and the destination exit, without an additional controlled relay layer. The structure is more direct and flexible to deploy, making it suitable for expanding regional coverage and serving less common destinations. Actual paths are shaped by the local carrier, international interconnection, and target-service network, so results may vary significantly by access environment.
Direct routes suit temporary access to a specific country’s websites, regional content checks, and routine tasks where continuity is less critical. If the destination is far away or interconnection with the current network is poor, try a nearby relay first. For ongoing transfers or online meetings, compare dedicated and relay entries before direct routes.
